How we approached it

Detail-heavy by nature.

Boundary work is detail-heavy — copings need to weather rain without staining, piers need to plumb. We took our time on the prep, the courses and the caps.

  1. Foundations checked and damp-coursed. First thing — make sure the ground’s right or nothing else lasts.
  2. Piers built up in matching brick. Plumbed each course, mortar joints raked off as we went.
  3. Wall surface meshed and rendered. Mesh across the panels between piers, basecoat then topcoat.
  4. Stone copings cut to size and bedded. Joints sealed against weather, no gaps for water to sit in.
  5. Pointing tidied where wall meets ground. Final clean, mortar buttered into the path edge.
